The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has extended an invitation to former President Olusegun Obasanjo to visit its facilities and witness the transformation that has taken place in the company.
In a statement issued on Thursday by the Chief Corporate Communications officer, Femi Soneye, NNPC Limited acknowledged Obasanjo’s contributions to Nigeria’s development and expressed its respect for his opinions.
However, the company also highlighted its significant transformation into a commercially viable and sustainable energy company.
NNPC Limited cited the rehabilitation of the Port Harcourt Refining Company (PhRC) and Warri Refinery, as well as its expansion into renewable energy and other business ventures, as evidence of its transformation.
“We invite President Obasanjo to come and see for himself the progress we’ve made,” the statement read. “We’re proud of what we’ve achieved, and we’re confident that he’ll be impressed by the transformation that’s taken place.”
